Match CFP 1 Dames - RC France = win 5 / 1

The 2nd half of our outdoor season began today with a 5.1 win at our home ground.  Arriving early to support our 1sts men team to a victory, we were motivated to follow suit and eager to get the match under way.

The first 20 minutes started slowly with both teams passing the ball around but neither creating any solid scoring opportunities. With a strong squad of 14 players, everyone was ready to fight for their position so we were all working hard and trying to remain patient as we felt we were getting close to scoring.  Our first goal came towards the end of the first half, a close range back stick sweep that gave us a 1.0 lead going into half time.

Our 2nd half started better as we were now moving the ball more effectively and creating more chances up front.  Our 2nd goal was a lovely strike from the top of the circle that left their keeper with no chance.  While perhaps still celebrating, RC sneaked a goal that brought the score to 2.1.  We were determined to learn from our lack of concentration and fought back to win a short corner from which we sweeped in a neat close range.

With everyone eager to get on the score sheet, we scored again with a defected ball from a hit into the circle and a close range effort that they will not be proud of.  A succesful Sunday morning and start to the 2nd half of season for us!
